CMPD: Three Suspects Arrested Clearing Nearly A Dozen Larceny, Robbery Cases
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have cleared close to a dozen larceny and robbery cases across Charlotte and surrounding areas with the arrests of three suspects.
On February 24, around 3:30 a.m., officers responded to an east Charlotte Quik Trip on Eastway Drive after reports of a commercial alarm. When officers arrived, they learned four suspects had entered the store, went behind the counter and took property from the business. One suspect, 51-year-old Pete McManus, was arrested on scene, according to police.
Over the next two weeks, eight more businesses were robbed, two of which the suspects used forced or threatened to use force towards the victim. Through a collaborative investigation between CMPD and detectives from the Matthews Police Department, Iredell County Sheriff’s Department, and Fort Mill Police Department two suspects involved in the series of larcenies and robberies across the area were identified.
Officers arrested 45-year-old Fredrick Mack and 30-year-old Francesca Tate on warrants connected with these cases on March 17.
According to CMPD, Mack has been charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, common law robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, five counts of felony habitual larceny, and four counts of misdemeanor larceny and one fugitive warrant out of York County. Tate has been charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and five counts of misdemeanor larceny and one fugitive warrant out of York County, police say.

- Quik Trip on Eastway Drive in east Charlotte
- Walgreens on W. Sugar Creek Road in north Charlotte
- Shoe Carnival on East Independence Boulevard in Matthews
- 7-Eleven on West Highway 160 in Fort Mill, S.C.
- Pilot Gas Station on Charlotte Highway in Troutman (this location was apart of the series of larcenies twice)
- House of Clouds on Central Avenue in east Charlotte
- 7-Eleven on Statesville Road in north Charlotte
- 7-Eleven on West Trade Street in uptown Charlotte
- Walgreens on South Boulevard in south Charlotte
