Unseasonably Cold and Breezy End to Week

AM Headlines:
  • Windy Day
  • Blustery for the mountains
  • Freeze Warnings South of I-40
  • Well below average temps
The rain has moved out, but we are not done with the wild weather. Temps are plummeting across the region and will remain cool throughout the day. Highs will be 15-20 degrees colder than average. Wind gusts of 30+mph for the piedmont with 50-60mph will be possible. This combined with the cold will bring single-digit wind chills to the mountains tonight and feels like temps across the rest of the region in the 20s. The one good note is that we will be dry and sunny through the near term. Temps will remain chilly through Saturday morning. Easter weekend will bring a nice warm-up with highs returning to the 70s by Easter Sunday. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s by Tuesday with the 80s back on tap through Wednesday.
