10 Suspects Arrested In ‘Operation Home Alone’
YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Ten suspected child predators nabbed in a sex sting operation. Now, local authorities have a message every parent should hear.
The ten men were arrested in ‘Operation Home Alone’. Undercover officers posed as children between the ages of 10 and 17-years-old. Authorities say the men believed they were meeting the children for sex.
“We can’t look at these people when we’re in the public and determine who they are and what their intentions are. They are targeting one of our most vulnerable populations and that’s our children,” says York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson.
Authorities say parents should beware of any social media site with a chatting feature. The suspects in this case have various backgrounds and occupations, including construction workers, mechanics, truck drivers, one of them even works for a software company.
