An Air Quality Alert issued again from 10 am – 8 pm Wednesday for Mecklenburg county. High pressure, plenty of sunshine, pollutants from cars, and some smoke is allowing ground-level ozone to reach unhealthy standards. Ozone levels are highest outside from early afternoon to early evening. The Air Quality Index will likely range from code yellow to code orange meaning Unhealthy Air for Sensitive Groups. Children, active people, older adults, and those with heart or lung disease (like asthma) should limit their time outside.
