Discussion
Another picture-perfect day in-store today with highs reaching the mid-80s this afternoon – likely our warmest day of 2021, yet. An Air Quality Warning is in effect for Mecklenburg County until 8pm. Sensitive groups should limit outdoor activity today. Conditions will improve the rest of the week. Clouds will fill in Thursday as a cold front draws closer to the area. This will bring showers overnight into the start of the day Friday. This boundary will hang just south of the area keeping an unsettled pattern in place for the weekend. A few storms late Friday could become severe with the primary threat being strong to damaging wind and hail. Scattered showers and storms will remain in the forecast Saturday as a series of pulses keep storm chances through early Sunday. Clouds will clear out by late Sunday with a drier start early next week.
