Unsettled Weather Pattern Setting Up for the Weekend
That nice high-pressure system that kept us nice and dry is moving further off the coast. This is leading to an increase in clouds and allowing a strong cold front to bring showers and a few storms to the region beginning later today. Highs will reach the low 80s today as clouds fill into the region. Scattered showers and isolated storms will pop up later this evening.
This system will stall allowing for a few pulses to bring more wet weather and storms to the region. We haven’t seen any rain yet this month, but that will be changing with 1/2-1″ of rainfall likely area-wide. There is an isolated threat of a storm or two becoming severe Friday afternoon and evening. If any storm does become severe the biggest threats will be damaging wind and large hail. Showers and storms will keep Saturday unsettled. If you have any outdoor plans, it would be best to make a backup. This system will gradually move off the coast through Sunday with showers tapering off from west to east.
Dry to start the next week with sunny skies back in view. Temps will remain warm with highs topping out in the upper 70s.
