Charlotte Leaders React To Chauvin’s Guilty Verdict

CHAROTTE — Local leaders are reacting about the Derek Chauvin guilty verdict.
Mecklenburg County Garry McFadden says the prosecution laid out their case so clearly during the trial, the jury didn’t need to ask any questions during deliberation.  But, as far as justice being served?
Many believe this country still has a long way to go.
“Justice as far as police has been blind since it was created as far as African Americans were concerned,” says Robert Dawkins, Action NC.
“The verdict is in, but what is going to be the sentencing?  And, we all know this from past experience you can be found guilty of a charge and you got less time than most people believe that you deserve,” says Sheriff Garry McFadden.
Dawkins says the country still needs to focus on police and judicial reform.
