CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Mecklenburg detectives say they are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a possible suspect involved in two armed robberies this past March in Charlotte.
Authorities describe the suspect as a light-skinned Black man, 5 feet 4 inches, and skinny. Last seen wearing light-colored jeans, a bright blue polo shirt, a dark-colored jacket, and carrying a distinctive small backpack.
Officers say they responded to call for service after an attempted armed robbery on March 28th around 5 p.m. on Selwyn Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they say a victim said she was sitting in her vehicle when the unknown suspect approached her and opened her door to point a firearm at her and demand property in her immediate possession.
The victim says after a brief struggle, she was able to drive away safely.
A short time later on March 28th, officers say they responded to another call for service in reference to an armed robbery on Park Road.
Officers say when they arrived, the victim in this case claimed she was approached by a suspect who demanded money from her as she was making an ATM withdrawal, while brandishing a firearm.
Police say anyone with more information on the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
