Strong Cold Front
A strong cold front is approaching from the west. Highs today will reach the low 70s. Temps will drop in the mountains after reaching the mid-40s. Winds will gust 30-40 mph throughΒ the afternoon after the cold front passes. This combined with low relative humidity and dry brush will increase the chance of fires getting out of control quickly. Fire Weather Warning is in effect from 2pm until 8pm. Temps will fall quickly overnight with lows falling into the 20s and 30s areawide. Freeze Warning goes into effect at midnight. Anyone who did any planting needs to take care of theirΒ plants and don’t forget to bring in your pets this evening.
Weekend Rain
Below average temps through the end of the week with highs falling 5-10 degrees below average. This weekend will bring our first significant chance of rain in weeks. We’ve had just .41″ of rain for the month of April putting us more than 2″ below average. Rain and showers will taper off early Sunday.
Warming Up Next Week
Temps will warm into the next week. Highs will reach the low to mid 70s early in the week. By Wednesday, temperatures will near 80 degrees.
