A Frosty Start to Friday
Temperatures warm to the upper 60s through Friday afternoon
Happy Earth Day! Do your part with the little things like turning off lights, reduce, reuse, and recycle. “On average, the U.S. warmed by 2.4 degrees, and almost every location (98%) reported a rise in yearly temperature.”
Another very cold evening on tap with low temperatures in the 20s across the High Country and mid-30s across the Piedmont. There are Freeze Warnings in effect across the Foothills and Mountains with Frost Advisories in effect for the Piedmont, including Mecklenburg county.
Friday looks beautiful under mostly sunny skies. High temperatures top out in the upper 60s with a southwest wind. Enjoy this nice weather because Saturday will not be so nice! Expect widespread rain through the day, especially the afternoon hours, with a slim chance for isolated strong storms. The greater severe weather risk is across South Carolina, but there is a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) across the southeastern portion of the Piedmont. All modes of severe weather are possible so stay WeatherWise and have at least two ways to receive warnings. Most neighborhoods have a good chance to pick up 0.5-1” of rain. We clear out Sunday and gradually warm through next week.
Tonight: Mostly Clear. Low: 36. Wind: W 5.
Friday: Mostly Sunny. High: 68. Wind: SW 5-10.
Saturday: Rain. Isolated Strong Storms. High: 65. Wind: SE 10-20.
Happy Thursday!
