KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — A man has been arrested and charged after a teenager was fatally shot in Kings Mountain Wednesday night, according to police.
The Kings Mountain Police Department responded to Redwood Circle around 7:20 p.m. after a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old boy who had been shot multiple times.
The teen was transported to CaroMount Medical center in Gastonia where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries.
After an initial investigation by the police department, officers identified 20-year-old Richard Emory Darnell Brown Jr. as the suspect in the homicide case. According to police, Brown was arrested and charged with murder. He is currently being held at the Gaston County Detention Center under no bond.
