CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department asked people to avoid a west Charlotte neighborhood while a SWAT Team served an arrest warrant Wednesday morning.
The SWAT operation took place on Old Steele Creek Road. Officers tweeted around 10:25 a.m. that the area was contained but people were encouraged to avoid the area.
Police said around 11 a.m. that the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
“The suspect was wanted on several violent felony arrest warrants related to a recent shooting,” CMPD said in a Twitter post.
No other information on the suspect has been released.
