New Healthy Dining Spot Serving More than “Just Salad”
New salad and healthy bowl spot, Just Salad, in South Park is helping create a more eco-friendly dining experience.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Plant-based bowls are the popular, new lunch option but Just Salad in South Park is serving up more than just great greens.
I call it “doing the right thing,” says owner and first Just Salad franchisee, Jane Kim, who transitioned to owning the healthier dining option after she and her husband unloaded their traditional fast food franchises. Whether you’re happily a carnivore or trying to sprinkle in more meatless-Mondays, Just Salad has an option for you. Beyond salads, they’re known for their avocado toast, warm bowls and smoothies. And they’re also known for their eco-friendly, reusable blue bowls.
“One of the reasons I invested in Just Salad is the reusable bowl program. ” When you dine with Just Salad, a $1 reusable bowl can be purchased and each time you bring it back to the restaurant, you get a free topping. “The reusable bowl program is the world’s largest restaurant reusable bowl program- we save 75,000 pounds of plastic a year.”
Globally conscious Kim spent years working in marketing for major brands including Loreal, Samsung and Mattel’s Barbie. She knows how to impact locally while thinking globally. And she also knows “it’s really easy to get overwhelmed” when it comes to protecting the environment. Whether it’s what’s inside the bowl, or through using Just Salad’s reusable bowl, Kim says, “All you can do is make positive choices for yourself.”
