SLED Investigates An Officer Involved Shooting In York County

YORK CO., S.C. — Police say they have opened an investigation after deputies were involved in a shooting near Rock Hill on Friday afternoon.

York County deputies were performing a wellness check on an individual, when the shooting took place at 2:15 p.m. on East Highway 324, just southwest of Rock Hill, S.C.

The York County Sheriff’s Office says, per their policy, SLED has been called to investigate this officer involved shooting.

Authorities say no deputies were injured, and the armed man was shot and airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte to be treated for his injuries.
