CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One of Charlotte’s favorite neighborhood outdoor music and event venues, The Music Yard, is reopening its doors for the spring event season.
Located between Mac’s Speed Shop and SouthBound on South Boulevard, officials say The Music Yard will be open every weekend for its themed night shows starting with the Indie Dance Party Walking On a Dream on May 15th.
Anyone who wishes to attend a concert at this venue can purchase tables for up to nine people or a high-top table for up to six here.
Officials say tables will be socially distanced with dividers, and all employees are required to wear masks and adhere to other health and safety protocols.
Following the outdoor show on May 15th, officials say Nothing Major Market will perform on May 23rd, and Butterfleyes featuring Russ Liquid will perform on June 5th.
Officials say to expect everything from reggae, electronic, funk, indie, and house music, with game day shows and fitness classes.
“The Yard is a special place,” said Preston Abernathy, events director of The Music Yard. “It’s perfect for supporting artists, creatives and the North Carolina music scene and has that West Coast flavor from the music to the vibe. The open-air space sets a SoCal scene with palm trees and a shade structure to diffuse the rays on warm days. We like to go all out for our attendees, customizing each event to fit the vibe with décor, plants and tailored production.”
