BOONE, N.C. — Boone Police are investigating a fatal collision that left one 22-year-old motorcyclist dead on Saturday evening.
Detectives say Kishaun Wideman, 22, died after crashing his 2009 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle into a 2008 Ford truck in Watauga County.
Officers say around 5:20 p.m. on May 8th, they responded to the two-vehicle collision on Blowing Rock Road.
Police say during their investigation they learned Wideman was heading south on Blowing Rock Road when he struck the side of a northbound truck, driven by 75-year-old Dana Millsaps who was attempting to turn left onto Faculty Street.
Detectives say Wideman was taken after the crash to a local hospital where he died.
Police say Millsaps was checked by medics at the scene and suffered no injuries, and speeding appears to be a factor in this case.
The investigation into this case remains active and ongoing.
