Driver Killed In Single Vehicle Accident In Rock Hill

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Troopers say a man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a wreck that happened just after 2:30am on May 8th in Rock Hill.  The accident happened on Saluda Road near Autumn Wood Drive.

The York County Coroner identified the man as 37-year-old Marquis Hardin of Chester, South Carolina.  Troopers say Hardin was driving a 2010 Lexus SUV on Saluda Road when drove off the right side of the road and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Hardin and his passenger were not wearing seat belts and were both ejected from the vehicle, according to Troopers.  Hardin died on May 10th from the injuries he sustained in the wreck, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.  Officials say an autopsy and toxicology results are pending.  No other details have been released at this time.
