Much Cooler Week Ahead

A cold front will track across the WCCB area this afternoon bringing scattered showers and possible isolated strong storms. There is a marginal risk for isolated strong storms late afternoon into early evening with damaging wind and heavy rain being the primary threat. The slight risk (level 2/5) is across eastern North Carolina – those locations will have a better chance to see severe weather including isolated tornadoes. This front is strong and powerful and will bring a huge midweek temperature drop. Expect high temperatures to only top out in the upper 60s, near 70 on Tuesday and struggle to reach 60Β° on Wednesday! Though temperatures are dropping big time, we have good news for our plants and gardens, this front will not bring a frost or freeze. The cold front that moves through on Monday will stall to our south which will allow more clouds than sun this week along with on and off showers Tuesday night through Thursday night. No one day looks to be a washout. Temperatures will gradually rise through the second half of the week with highs by Friday back to 70Β°.

Tonight: Few showers. Mostly Cloudy. Low: 58. Wind: N/NE 5-10.

Tuesday: Mostly Cloudy. High: Upper 60s / near 70. Wind: NE 5-10.

Wednesday: Cool/cold! High: 60. Wind: NE 5-15.

Have a wonderful Monday and week ahead!
