Alligator Captured By Cabarrus County Deputy, Wildlife Officers After Located Near Daycare

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — A Cabarrus County deputy along with Wildlife officers captured and relocated an alligator that was discovered yards away from a daycare Monday afternoon.

The sheriff’s office received a call around 1:40 p.m. after an alligator was spotted by a Shiloh United Methodist Church daycare worker on Odell School Road. The gator was spotted in a ditch near a drain pipe.

According to officials, the gator was estimated to be about three to four feet long.

Animal Care and Control officers were able to capture the gator until Wildlife officers arrived. There is no further information on how the gator got there.
