84 Days with No Sunset for Utqiaġvik, Alaska

The northernmost point in the U.S. will not see a complete sunset for more than two and a half months!

Located on the Arctic Ocean with over 4,000 residents, the sun won’t set in Utqiaġvik (formerly Barrow), Alaska for more than two and a half months! It’s why they call it the land of the midnight sun!

Monday morning (May 10) the sun came up and won’t set until August 2nd! That is 84 days with no complete sunset. While that may sound good to some, don’t forget the sun never rose about the horizon from November 18 to January 24.
