KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — A man and woman are both facing charges after police say they got into a physical alteration at a gas station in Raleigh.

Tensions are high as people continue to rush to gas stations fearing a gas shortage due to the cyberattack on the Colonial Pipeline that happened last week.

The Knightdale Police Department says officers were called out to the Marathon gas station on Knightdale Boulevard around 2pm on May 11th when two people started fighting after someone cut the line to purchase gas.  Knightdale is a town in Wake County and is just east of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Both the man and woman were seen in a video posted by Instagram user Shaaddeez spitting in each other’s face near a gas pump.  A Witness told WRAL that the woman in the white car tried to cut a line of vehicles that were waiting to get to the gas pump.  At some point, after none of the driver’s would let the woman in, the witness claims the woman ran her vehicle into the SUV.

The video then appears to show the woman get out of her vehicle and spit in the driver of the SUV’s face.  Then the man gets out of his vehicle and appears to spit back in the woman’s face.  A physical altercation ensued and a cell phone was damaged, according to the Knightdale Police Department.  Both vehicles reportedly had minor damage.

The woman has been charged with simple assault and the man has been charged with assault on a female and damage to property.  Both received citations and were released with a pending court date, according to police.
