On the Road with James: Elevated Vino Tour

James hits the road to find a little taste of Italy in our backyards.

We’re driving out west this week to see where the High Country meets wine country in the Carolinas. Whether it’s white or red, dry or sweet, or you’re just here for the cheese, we have a little something for everyone on this week’s road trip. First on our tour is the Grandfather Vineyard & Winery in Banner Elk, NC. Situated on a beautiful hilly vineyard next to the Watauga River, the gorgeous location is hard to beat; the wines are an adventure themselves. We travel down 321 into Lenoir to visit our next stop: Twisted Vine Winery. Run by semi-retired firefighter Tom Bradshaw, the barn aesthetic and creative options (including refreshing wine slushes) make it a must-stop for wine aficionados and casuals alike. Last, but certainly not least, comes Shadow Line Vineyard in Granite Falls. With 30 acres of land and a modernized yet homely tasting room, Shadow Line is a place where you can kick back, relax, and immerse yourself in a world of wine. Remember to stay hydrated!
