Warming Up, Drying Out

Our first 90º day of the year may only be a week away.

After record lows crept into the WCCB Charlotte viewing area earlier this week, any more tastes of winter will be few and far between for the foreseeable future. That said, lows will be a bit on the cool side this weekend in the 40s and 50s. On the other hand, highs should easily clear 70º and could be pushing into the 80s as we kick off the workweek. Gone with the cold will be rain chances, as high pressure largely dominates the Carolina skies for the better part of the next week. A few stray showers are possible both Monday and Tuesday nights, but most communities will stay dry for the next seven days. While temperatures will remain slightly above average for the time being, our first crack at 90º could come as soon as next week.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Cool. Low: 54°. Wind: Light.

Monday: Variable clouds. Warmer. High: 78°. Wind: SW 5-10.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy. A stray shower is possible. Low: 58°. Wind: Light.

Tuesday: Partly sunny. Even warmer. High: 80°. Wind: SW 5-10.
