Heatwave Inbound
Hot and dry - the name of the game through next week
We are getting warmer and warmer each day with a developing heatwave approaching the eastern half of the United States. Our average first 90Β° day is May 20th, today, so this heat is right on schedule, but temperatures will still be well above-average. Temperatures will flirt with reaching 90Β° in some neighborhoods on Friday and only rise through the weekend and into next week. This hot pattern is also going to be a dry one as well so be sure to water your gardens and lawn. Drought conditions have expanded in NC to 66% of the state. Next week could be worse with a week of hot and dry weather. This has been the driest spring since 2016.
Tonight: Mostly clear. Low: 59. Wind: SE 5-10.
Friday: Sunny skies. High: 88. Wind: E/NE 5-10.
Saturday: Mostly sunny. High: 90. Wind: W/NW 5.
Have a wonderful Thursday!
Kaitlin
