Parts of the the western United States (areas with clear skies) will be able to see a total lunar eclipse early Wednesday morning, but people across the Carolinas will only get treated to a partial lunar eclipse.
We will see a partial eclipse across the WCCB area, but it will not be anything spectacular. It will begin at 5:44 AM Wednesday, but with the moon set at 6:16 AM, we will not be able to experience totality.
HOW TO VIEW:
You will need a good view of the horizon – it will be best to head to a high up location. Look to the west/southwest sky.
WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE?
You’ll see the left side of the moon darken.
Lunar eclipses only occur during a full moon. The May full moon is known as the “Flower Moon” and we should have a good view of it on Wednesday under partly cloudy skies.
