CMPD AC&C Selected As Best Friends Network Partner Shelter For The May 30, 2021 Race In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (News Release) — CMPD Animal Care & Control selected as Best Friends Network Partner Shelter for the May 30, 2021, Coca Cola 600 race in Charlotte.

Best Friends Animal Society has teamed up with Hendrick Motorsports driver of the No.48, Alex Bowman, and the Ally Racing team to encourage fans to help Save Them All.

At every race from now until the season finale in Phoenix, Alex and Ally Racing will choose a nearby Best Friends shelter or rescue group partner, donate $1,000 each to the organization, and promote both the group and their adoptable pets. But that’s not all! If Alex wins that local race, Ally Racing will up the ante and donate $10,000 to the chosen partner.

Alex Bowman had a head-turning year in 2020. He loves professional racing, just like he loves his best friends, Roscoe, a rescued beagle mix, and Finn, a charcoal Labrador retriever.

Alex has been around cars his entire life, originally working alongside his father in their Arizona body shop and even building his own race cars initially. Last season, Alex, who now resides in North Carolina, blew away the competition by capturing one win at Fontana, six top-five finishes, and 15 top-10s. The team started off 2020 by capturing the outside pole position for the 62nd running of the Daytona 500. Alex led 440 laps, more than his previous total in any single season.
