CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The budget battle heats up again on Tuesday night, as Mecklenburg County Commissioners meet to approve their $2 billion budget.

Commissioners still plan to withhold $56 million of their $526 million allocation to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

A majority of the board wants to see a detailed plan on how the district will improve outcomes for minority students.
