Edge On The Clock: United Airlines To Buy Supersonic Jets That Travel 2x As Fast As Regular Jets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – United Airlines has agreed to buy 15 supersonic jets from Boom Technology. They can travel 1,300 miles per hour, or about twice as fast as conventional jetliners. United says the speed is enough to offer routes from Newark to London that only take three hours. United plans to start piloting the planes in 2029.

Plus, for some people just the thought of eating a cicada is enough to make them sick. But people with seafood allergies could become seriously ill from eating the insects.

And, an Italian artist is 15,000 Euros richer (about $18,000) after selling an invisible statue. Salvatore Garau says that his work of art isn’t “nothing,” but is instead a “vacuum.”
