Italian Artist Makes More Than $18,000 Selling Invisible Sculpture
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An Italian artist has gone viral after selling an invisible sculpture for more than $18,000 this past week.
Artist Salvatore Garau sold his work titled “I am,” consisting of a 5-foot by 5-foot square of nothing, for $18,000 and a written certificate of authenticity.
Garau says the sculpture is intended to be displayed in a private space free of obstructions, where lighting and climate control are not required.
Garau says the sculpture is made of “spirit and air,” that takes the power of imagination to perceive its existence.
