MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Troopers say the driver of a 2002 Dodge Caravan was killed after getting into a collision with two vehicles on Thursday morning in Iredell County.
Police say the driver of the van, 38-year-old Patrick Little, was heading east on N.C. Highway 150 near Pinnacle Access Area on June 3rd, when he crossed the double yellow centerline and hit a 2019 tractor-trailer truck heading west.
Troopers say Little continued to travel across the roadway, hitting a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado head-on, before coming to a stop.
Little was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and died at the scene, police say.
Authorities say the driver of the tractor-trailer, 41-year-old Lesley Stitt, was not injured and the driver of the pickup truck, 40-year-old Nelson Vasquez, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the crash around 11 a.m.
Police say the roadway near the collision, on N.C. Highway 150 at the Catawba County line, was closed for three hours during the on-scene investigation.
Troopers say no charges will be filed, and contributing circumstances to the collision are still under investigation.
