MorningStar Ministries Holds Re-dedication Ceremony for Heritage Tower

FORT MILL, S.C. – MorningStar Ministries says work is officially underway to finish the old Heritage Tower in Fort Mill.

The ministry held a re-dedication ceremony on Saturday morning on the 21-story tower.

It has sat untouched for the last 34 years.

The ministry says it has been involved in a 10-year legal battle with York County over finishing the tower.

The ministry’s founder says the tower will soon be a home for Christian adults age 55 and older.

“We’ve tried to preserve this building the way it was. God’s people that put their money and invested in this, and we feel like a steward when we got this property, and we want to see it completed,” Rick Joyner said.

The tower was originally set to be a luxury hotel at Jim Bakker’s Heritage USA theme park.

Those plans came to a halt when Bakker’s ministry went down in scandal.
