With a tropical air mass overhead, Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) had it’s wettest day since November 12th, 2020 which was 207 days ago!
There are many neighborhoods that have picked up 2+” both Sunday and Monday and there is more where that came from! With a big Bermuda high pressure anchored in the Atlantic and an area of low pressure to our west, the week ahead will be hot and humid with scattered showers and storms. This is a very typical summertime pattern. If you get caught under one of these torrential downpours, it is likely you’ll pick up 1”+ in a short period of time, but not every single neighborhood will.
