Carolina Panthers Quarterback Sam Darnold Says He Hasn’t Gotten COVID Vaccine

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold is trending online after admitting during a press conference that he has not gotten the COVID-19 vaccine, despite the team’s push for him to do so. He said, “I haven’t been vaccinated yet ya know, still gotta think about you know all those certain things that go into it. Again, it’s it’s everyone’s choice whether they want to get vaccinated or not. So, that’s really all I got on it.”

The 24-year-old says he has to evaluate what’s best for him. Twitter was quick react, and pointed out that Darnold recently caught an illness that required him to sit out the previous football season. One person saying, “Of course the guy who got mono and missed half the season doesn’t want to take appropriate health precautions.” Another, tweeting in part, “Sad when people are not allowed to think for themselves and make decisions about their body. It’s his body, his choice.”

Our question of the night: do you think players should disclose their vaccination status?
