Motorcyclist Killed in Lincoln County After Running Off Road, Troopers Say

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Troopers are investigating a fatal collision in Lincoln County after a motorcyclist ran off the road Saturday morning and died.

Troopers say the driver of a 2006 Harley-Davidson Street Glide, 36-year-old Zachary Pless of Iron Station, was traveling east on Bethel Church Road, when he ran off the road to the left in a curve, and hit a wooden fence.

Police say Pless died at the scene, and it was a significant time later that a passerby noticed the collision and called authorities.
