A heat dome sitting over the western United States is bringing excessive heat and worsening drought conditions to millions of Americans.
At 1 PM Wednesday, Death Valley was up to 120°. Temperatures will continue to rise as they make a run at 130° through the remainder of the week. Excessive Heat Warnings are in place.
On top of the excessive heat, many out west are dealing with one of the worst droughts in history. With the dry conditions, high heat and wind gusts up to 50 mph the fire danger is just going to get worse. As of Wednesday afternoon there are a total of 46.5 million people are under a heat advisory or excessive heat warning.
