CMPD: 1 Dead, 1 Injured In Fatal East Charlotte Shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives say one person died and another person was injured after a fatal shooting in east Charlotte early Sunday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg officers say they responded to call for service on Eastcrest Drive around 1:45 a.m. on June 20th.

At the scene, officers say they found two victims with gunshot wounds and took both to a local hospital to be treated.

Detectives say one of the victims died around 5 a.m. at the hospital from injuries sustained in the shooting.

The victims’ identities have not yet been released.

The investigation into this case remains active and ongoing.
