Tropical Depression Four has Formed off the South Carolina Coast

A disturbance located 140 miles ESE of Beaufort, SC has formed into Tropical Depression Four. TD4 will likely strengthen into Tropical Storm Danny before making landfall near Charleston, tonight. Circulation is continuing to tighten and it is entering the warmer waters of the Gulf Stream.

A Tropical Storm Warning extends from Edisto Beach to the South Santee River in South Carolina. TD4 is moving WNW at 16 mph and is expected to make landfall later this evening. Rainfall totals of 1-3″ will be possible. Up to 3′ of storm surge could further coastal flooding issues.

There are not direct threats to the WCCB viewing area with this storm decaying quickly as it moves inland through Georgia.
