Wilson’s World: Arts+ Talking Summer Camp

Summer camp season is underway! Wilson was with Arts+ learning more about their half-day and full-day Arts+ camps  for children between the ages of 4-18. There’s something for everyone at Arts+!

One of the largest arts education organizations in the Southeast, Arts+ is the only organization of its kind in the Charlotte region. It was founded 50 years ago as Community School of the Arts.

In 2020-2021, Arts+ awarded nearly $100,000 of financial aid to students. Financial aid is provided to students each year based on need and the availability of funds. Arts+ uses a sliding scale similar to the one schools use to determine eligibility for free/reduced school lunches.

Students of all skill levels can find something on the Arts+ camp roster, each camp is designed to ignite artistic expression while having fun!

Teen Comic Book Workshop: Explores the expansive and exciting world of comic stories, cartooning and drawing styles. Students will create original characters and story lines and will learn the techniques and materials used to create professional comic art. Ages 13-18; week of July 12.‎

Band Camp: Concert and Jazz: A staple in the Charlotte region for nearly two decades, this camp is a week of bands, combos, improvisation, games, and master classes that culminates in a free concert.
