Police: Man Shoots And Kills 3 Family Members Before Setting Home On Fire In Lenoir

Detectives say new evidence reveals Ronald “Jimmy” Ward, 29, shot his two sisters and father before intentionally setting the home in Lenoir on fire and shooting himself.
Police say Ward is the only suspect determined to involved in this case.

LENOIR, N.C. — Investigators say four family members were shot and killed before a fiery explosion at a home in Lenoir, N.C. on Wednesday.
Ronald Ward, 58, Katlyn Ward, 18, Ronald Ward “Jimmy”, 29, and Emily Ward, 15, died from gunshot wounds, before police say an accelerant was used to intentionally start a fire inside the home.
Officers with the Lenoir Police Department say they received several 911 calls over shots fired, a fire, and a possible explosion on Laurel Place NW around 3:30 p.m. on June 30th.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they noticed a large fire inside the residence.
Once firefighters were able to put out the flames, investigators say they went into the home and found the four family members dead inside.
The Lenoir Police Department does not expect to release any further information regarding this tragedy.
