Juvenile, 24-Year-Old Man Charged In Fatal Northwest Charlotte Shooting

A juvenile and a 24-year-old man have been charged in connection to a deadly northwest Charlotte shooting that happened Tuesday night, police said.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department identified Jamal Harris and a 17-year-old juvenile as suspects in the homicide case of Joshua Hollingsworth after an investigation.

Harris has since been charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Charlotte police. The juvenile has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

The juvenile’s identity was not released due to his status as a minor.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in northwest Charlotte Tuesday night.

Officers responded to Mayfield Terrace Drive, off of Beatties Ford Road, around 10:45 p.m. after reports of someone being shot.

When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. MEDIC transported the victim, identified as 20-year-old Joshua Hollingsworth, to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
