Edge On The Clock: Underwater Pipeline Sparks Fire On The Gulf Of Mexico

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An underwater pipeline leak sparked a blaze that set the internet on fire, as well as a portion of the Gulf of Mexico on Friday. People who saw the viral video called it “The Eye of Fire.” Pemex, the Mexican oil company, says the fire originated from a gas leak in a submarine pipeline early Friday morning.

Plus, as Americans prepare to celebrate their independence, some West Virginians took to a slippery slope to break a wet and wild world record! The folks at Natural Light teamed up with some fearless West Virginians to break the Guinness Record for the world’s longest plastic water slide.

And, sorry Jeff Bezos! It looks like Richard Branson will be the first billionaire to travel to space. The Virgin Galactic founder will be on the company’s next test flight out of New Mexico which is scheduled for July 11th. That’s nine days before fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos is expected to travel to space in his Blue Origin rocket.
