CMPD: Woman Shot, Killed In West Charlotte

CHARLOTTE,N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating after a woman was shot and killed in west Charlotte early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to Elmin Street, near Old Steele Creek Road, around 3:30 a.m. after receiving an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.
