Three People Shot, One Stabbed In Rowan County

ROCKWELL, N.C. — Detectives are investigating after three people were shot and one person was stabbed in Rowan County.

Deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office say they were dispatched to a stabbing on Organ Church Road in Rockwell around 11pm on July 6th.  As deputies were responding to the scene, a second call came into 911 dispatchers regarding a shooting on Stolz Road.  Investigators say the two addresses are less than a mile from one another.

When deputies arrived on Stolz Road, they located a green Honda Accord with numerous bullet holes in the passenger side and most of the windows had been shattered by gunfire, according to a news release.  Authorities say a man and woman were lying on the ground on the passenger side of the vehicle.  The woman was shot in the back of her right leg and the man had a wound to his hand.  The man told deputies that he had been struck in the back of the head with a baseball ball, according to a news release.

On Organ Church Road, authorities say they located numerous shell casings and a man suffering from a stab.  Through the initial investigation, deputies say the two crime scenes were connected.  The man and woman who were found on Stolz Road were originally at the Organ Church Road location but left the area when the shooting began, according to deputies.

A short time later, the Concord Police Department contacted dispatchers in Rowan County because a person showed up at Northeast Medical Center in Concord with a gunshot wound to the chest.  Police say the man told them the shooting happened in Kannapolis but the man arrived at the hospital in a dark colored Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck which was the description of the vehicle involved in the shooting on Stolz Road, according to a news release.  Investigators seized the truck and executed a search warrant on the vehicle.

Authorities have not released any names and no arrests have been made at this time.  The investigation is ongoing.  This is a developing story.  Check back for updates.
