Scattered Storms to Start the Weekend

AM Headlines:
  • Mild and Muggy Start
  • PM Rain and Storms
  • Typical Summertime Pattern Returns this Weekend
  • Better Rain and Storm Chances Sun/Mon
Elsa is strengthened as it moved into the Mid-Atlantic and remains a tropical storm as it moves into New England this morning. It will become a remnant low later tonight as it nears Nova Scotia. We’ll start the day dry, but rain and storm chances on the rise this afternoon with a cold front that will bring another round of wet weather to the area. A few storms could pack a punch, but severe threat remains relatively low. Highs will reach the low 90s today, with any storms cooling down the area for any evening outings. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 60s with the 90s back on tap Saturday. Isolated afternoon storms will be possible as a more typical summertime pattern sets up briefly. We’ll have a bit more moisture to work with (meaning muggy days through early next week) and more widespread afternoon showers and storms Sunday into Monday.
