CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After experiencing a lifeguard shortage earlier this year, Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation leaders say Ramsey Creek Beach on Lake Norman is now open five days a week.
Ramsey Creek Beach will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting July 14th, officials say.
Officials say fees will be required for vehicle entrance to the beach, and it is $10 per vehicle for county residents and $15 per vehicle for non-residents.
Discounts are available for senior citizens and people with disabilities.
Double Oaks Family Aquatic Center is also expanding hours to operate Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., officials say.
Aquatic Center officials say guests can enter the pool during 1.5 hour time slots (11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m.), to allow for 30 minutes of cleaning between entry times and to uphold social distancing measures.
Tickets are first-come, first served for $2 per person.
Officials say Cordelia Pool will now operate Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Just like Double Oaks, Cordelia Pool will offer time slots to go swimming (11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m.), in order to allow 30 minutes of cleaning between entry times.
Tickets are also first-come, first served for $2 per person.
