Two 15-year-olds have been charged for a Wednesday afternoon Rock Hill shooting after a car chase, according to police.
Through an investigation into a shooting that sent a 15-year-old to the hospital, officers located a vehicle that matched the description given by witnesses. When officers approached the vehicle, it sped off which initiated a pursuit but the driver was able to evade police on Dave Lyle Boulevard near Anderson Road.
Other officers found the vehicle abandoned on Keiger Street and began canvassing behind the apartments nearby. Rock Hill police were able to locate the suspects and attempted to approach them, they then fled on foot.
Rock Hill Police K9 Officers and York County Sheriff’s Deputies and K9 Deputies arrived in the area and began tracking the suspects which resulted in the capture of two juveniles. The two 15-year-olds were identified as the suspects in the shooting, police said.
The juvenile driving the vehicle was charged with criminal conspiracy, receiving/possession of stolen goods ($2,000-$10,000), and failure to stop for blue lights, according to the Rock Hill Police Department. The second juvenile, believed to be responsible for the shooting, was charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, possession of a firearm by a person under 18, and criminal conspiracy.
Both juveniles were detained and transported to DJJ in Columbia.
The vehicle was confirmed to be a black Hyundai that was reported stolen earlier in the week.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A 15-year-old was injured in a Rock Hill shooting Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The Rock Hill Police Department responded to Laurel Street around 1:45 p.m. after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment.
Officers learned the shooting occurred in the street and the suspects were in a black sedan that fled the scene.
