On the Road with James: Rockingham
James heads east this week to stop in on the Star of the Sandhills.
We’re headed east this week to stop in on the Star of the Sandhills: Rockingham, NC! This up-and-coming town lives up to its nickname. Although the Richmond County community is known as a pit-stop on the way to the beach, you’ll see there’s much more to it than that.
Looking for a top-notch outdoor experience? I highly recommend taking a trip over to Hinson Lake. My disc golf skills may leave much to be desired, but the views do not.
If you’ve ever taken a trip down 74, you’ll know you’re in Richmond County just from all the peach ice cream signs! I had to try some of the best around at Norton Farms.
Of course, it’s not a road trip without some grub. I had the pleasure of tasting some of the BBQ around courtesy of Pattan’s Downtown Grille, a local legend. Hit the road with me and meet some great friends, family, and food!
