3-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas Talks Toyko, Sleep Benefits and More!
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Lauren got a chance to talk with 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Gabby Douglas. Douglas shared why sleep is so important, ways to un-junk our sleep, her favorite cheat meals as an athlete and her interesting hobbies outside of gymnastics.
As a brand ambassador, Gabby Douglas is part of a national mission underway to un-junk our sleep. Americans lose 74 billion hours of sleep each year, as 68% sleep less than the recommended seven hours a night, according to SleepScore Labs. Instead we suffer from junk-sleep – tossing and turning sleep; waking up feeling awful instead of recharged; having our 9 to 5 feel like 9 to 500!
Starting July 26th, Mattress Firm will hit the road to help people remove junk sleep from their lives for good. The Un-Junk Your Sleep specially outfitted truck will take to the road stopping at sleep deprived consumers’ homes in New York City, Detroit and Houston, to help them find the perfect mattress and un-junk their sleep.
Consumers across the country also have an opportunity to un-junk their sleep via a national sweepstakes. A grand prize winner will receive a $1,500 voucher for a new Mattress Firm mattress. To enter, consumers can post a photo of their current mattress on Instagram or Twitter, along with a short description of why they are suffering from junk sleep, using the hashtag #UnJunkYourSleepGiveaway and tagging @MattressFirm. One winner will be randomly selected.
