CHARLOTTE, N.C. — T-shirts designed by kids with autism are now on sale through 704 Shop thanks to a new partnership with Autism Charlotte.

Wooten says he was inspired by a startup called Umano, depicted on the show Shark Tank, whose entire brand was build around kids drawing designs for their shirts.

“Before the episode was finished, I had already decided that if I ever got the chance to empower kids in Charlotte by letting them draw designs for shirts I would make sure I made that happen. There’s nothing more pure than the art that comes from a child in my opinion” says Wooten.

Wooten says this week’s clothing release is entirely designed by students inside the Autism Charlotte program.

He says the 704 Shop gave the students instructions to draw a crown however they saw fit and from those drawings, two were selected to be put onto t-shirts will all the proceeds benefitting Autism Charlotte.

Wooten says “We’re excited to continue to lift voices in our community and use 704 Shop as a vehicle for positive change in Charlotte. Without all of your support, projects like these wouldn’t be possible. Thank you for allowing our small brand the ability to create huge impacts.”
