Unsettled Start To The Week
- Patchy AM fog.
- Increased rain and storm chances this afternoon.
- Localized flooding threat.
- The temperature will feel like the triple digits later in the week.
A cold front will bring a more active and unsettled start to the week. Rain and storm chances will increase this afternoon with heavy downpours possible. We have a lot of moisture across the area and it will feel much more swampy today. Any storm that develops will not have a lot of movement so that could lead to heavy downpours and strong storms that sit in place. Localized flooding will be the biggest threat – especially for areas north of I-85 – but, an isolated severe storm could produce damaging wind and will be something we will be monitoring this afternoon. This boundary will keep those afternoon storm chances in the forecast through Tuesday.
From Wednesday through the end of the week, temperatures will be cranking up. Highs will reach the mid to upper 90s, but it will be feeling more like the triple digits. A cold front will bring better rain and storm chances for the weekend.
